Every year we try and stay up to watch the Oscars red carpet arrivals on E! but every year we fail! The great thing is the fashion highlights are there for us to drool over the next morning, and there was great coverage this year particularly from Heat magazine who tweeted the arrivals as they happened.
Let’s face it there have been some fashion disasters at the ceremony in recent years (need I mention Angelina Jolie‘s leg stance?!) but this year there was definitely more good than bad. Here’s our Top 5 pick of the best dressed at this year’s ceremony:
Zero Dark Thirty actress Jessica Chastain looked the epitome of Hollywood glamour in this stunning Giorgio Armani dress. The nude colouring wouldn’t usually work with such pale skin, but Chastain‘s hair and lips really pull it all together. Accessorised with Vintage Harry Winston diamonds this is truly stunning.
Jennifer Lawrence showed off her curves in a voluminous pale pink Christian Dior Couture dress. This suited her perfectly and was very romantic. Although it did cause a few problems when she took to the stage to collect her Best Actress award, when she took a tumble. Hazardous or not she still looked stunning.
Actress Rose Byrne looked simply stunning in this elegant Lanvin silk wrap skirt and backless top. We love that this isn’t your typical over the top Oscars dress, as the simplicity is what makes it so beautiful. The colouring compliments Rose‘s features perfectly and diamond jewels make the outfit classic.
After her dabble in Valentino florals a few weeks ago Adele, who took home the Oscar for Original Song, was back to her classic black dress. This embellished Jenny Packham dress complimented her perfectly.
Nominated in the Best Actress category for her role in The Impossible, Naomi Watts looked ravishing in this Giorgio Armani silver sequined gown. The dress hugged every curve and the asymmetric style was beautifully unusual. Do you agree with our choices? Who do you think were the best dressed at this year’s Oscars?
