Universal Pictures chairman Adam Fogelson has publicly announced that the erotic, BDSM film adaptation of E. L James’s 50 Shades Of Grey will be released as early as next summer.
The chairman stated that Universal are not rushing into the production just yet, “I don’t believe that [E.L. James] had any interest in going to a studio where rushing it into production was the vision. I don’t believe that the second or third film would have benefited from that strategy.” So Universal have decided to take things slow, which is more than we can say for Christian Grey and Ana Steele! However, the studio needs to get onto hiring a director and actors if they want to stick to their summer schedule!
50 Shades is not the only film Universal are pushing forward. The sequel to Snow White and the Huntsman is said to start filming relatively shortly with a narrative focusing on Chris Hemsworth’s huntsman’s background. Additionally, Universal have just confirmed a Bourne fivequel so we are looking forward to that too!
