Oh so popular Mr Joseph Gordon-Levitt has been hitting the headlines a lot lately – but this time it’s for being cast lead in ‘Sin City 2: A Dame to Kill For’.
Gordon-Levitt has turned down his role in Marvel‘s ‘Guardian’s of the Galaxy’ to take part in Robert Rodriguez’s sequel to 2005′s very successul ‘Sin City’.
His character in the film, a cocky gambler named Johnny secretly led by his only will for revenge on his sworn enemy, was originally offered to Johnny Depp and was created specifically for the sequel which wasn’t in the original comic book.
Gordon Levitt, the jammy git, released a statement saying; “I love how the first movie uses VFX, not to make fake things look real, but to create a heightened world unburdened by the look and feel of reality. Plus, nobody makes a badass like Mr Rodriguez.”
Frank Miller will once again be joining Rodriguez in directing the movie, which has already started shooting at the end of October. Familiar faces such as Mickey Rourke, Jessica Alba and Bruce Willis will also be coming back to crime-ridden Basin City.
Gordon-Levitt, never one to stand still it seems, will also be debuting his directing debit this month at the upcoming Sundance Film Festival with ‘Don Jon’s Addiction’.
