Michael Bay posted the news Megan Fox will be joining the cast of controversial ‘Ninja Turtles‘ on his website this week.

Bay wrote: “TMNT: we are bringing Megan Fox back into the family!”

Her role has not been officially announced, but she is believed to star as April O’Neil, a jumpsuit wearing reporter who did play a part in the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, back in 1990 and it’s subsequent sequels.

So why the controversy?

Well, the movie is considered doomed to many already – perhaps from the day Bay declared he was dropping ‘Teenage’ and ‘Ninja’ from the title.  Or maybe the hope died when Bay released plans to change the original story turning the Turtles into Aliens.  Yeah, I know right?  Bay later spoke out after a backlash ensued and he was accused of “sodomising” the original movies.

So what about his relationship with Megan?  That’s not great either.  The actress starred in two of the Transformers movies Bay directed, but was later thrown off the franchise after claiming in an interview Bay behaved like a “tyrant” on set and compared him to Adolf Hitler.  Ouch, that one had to hurt.

However, Bay is only producing, whereas Jonathan Liebesman is directing, so maybe him and Megan can patch things over when filming is due to start in April.

Originally scheduled for a Christmas 2013 release, this has been pushed back to 16 May 2014 – the same day as the new Warner BrothersGozilla movie.
