Signed to Universal/2wo7even Benjamin AD is about to take on the UK rap scene with a confidence required to reach the top.
Benjamin AD has the rare quality of making songs that people can relate to and that is what makes him stand out with latest track ‘I Just Wanna Know‘.
With that in mind we caught up with Benjamin AD to discuss his current track, future mixtape and Christmas presents.

HTF: Hi Benjamin, thanks for taking the time out to speak to us at Hit The Floor, how are you?
Benjamin AD: I’m very well thanks, no complaints. Thanks for interviewing me, I appreciate it.
HTF: For those that have yet to come across you, how would you describe yourself in 5 words?
Benjamin AD: Erm… 5 words is quite hard lol but I would say… Honest, passionate, alternative, organic and fresh!
HTF: You have recently dropped the video to ‘I Just Wanna Know’, can you tell us a little more about the track.
Benjamin AD: ‘I Just Wanna Know’ is the first of a trilogy. I’d written it a while back and that is part.1 – the testing out stage where you see if you’re really on the same wavelength as your girl before you go all in and take it really seriously. And then with the following 2 parts the situation progresses, so I hope everyone decides to keep up.
HTF: Are you planning to feature this on a future mixtape/album?
Benjamin AD: This track will be on my forthcoming mixtape Chapter 0.5 (The Prologue) produced all by Shin of Dumb Beats and Young Ash. Then after I’ll be releasing Chapter 1 which was exclusively produced by C-Major of The Legacy. But the trilogy of tracks will be on Chapter 0.5 definitely.
HTF: Initial comparisons seem to bring up the name J. Cole! That’s big. Does this put more pressure on you?
Benjamin AD: lol not at all. I don’t mind comparisons, they’re how people find an easier way of indentifying you. I could never feel that pressure, all due respects to J.Cole but I’m so sure within myself. I have my own identity, my own brand building. I am Benjamin A.D, and I know what my mission is.
HTF: You recently signed to Universal/2wo7even how does that feel?
Benjamin AD: To be honest, it feels weird at times just because I have to keep other people involved in what I’m doing which is something I’m not used to, but its mostly the same lol apart from a few big changes.
HTF: What are your plans for the foreseeable future? Where can we catch you live?
Benjamin AD: The future plans are to get my music out fully, and cover an amount of ears I’m happy with, which isn’t easy. I basically have both mixtapes finished so the next step is to get on a promo campaign. Trying to get my online presence up and be more social lol, which I find very hard but it’s something I have to do.
HTF: So it’s almost Christmas time now 
What was the best and worst present you have ever been given?
Benjamin AD: Ok, lol the best present I can say I got was probably a playstation 1 when I was like 10. Or maybe a Scalextric set when I was like 6. As for the worst, I can’t really think of one, as I’ve gotten older I haven’t celebrated Christmas.
HTF: Can you tell us a random fact about yourself?
Benjamin AD: I’m a computer game addict, and will be playing them even when I’m an old man. (God willing)
HTF: Thanks for taking time out to speak to us, is there anything you would like to add?
Benjamin AD: If I’m adding anything it’s just to let everyone that reads this aware of my mixtape Chapter 0.5 coming very soon and I give many thanks for everyone and their support so far. This is the beginning of a journey.
