Sats Tour Poster 245x307 Review: The Saturdays Wembley Arena 16/12/11Artist: The Saturdays
Venue: Wembley Arena
Date: Friday 16th December 2011

The Saturdays…. at Wembley Arena?!? Yes those lovely ‘Sats’ have come a long way since the humble multi-coloured tights of ‘Up’ days. What we have before us now is pretty much a well oiled machine of a girlband. Each part has been well crafted, beautifully designed and has all the elements needed to get you ‘All Fired Up!’ and get your dancing shoes on.

Not only are they all stunning, let’s face it there’s no bad egg in the sats, in fact I would go as far to say as they could even be some sort of ultra rare eggs you would only buy in a posh, parisian restaurant that have been laid by some sort of golden eagle or mythical bird (maybe some sort of awesome owl/dragon hybrid!), but they have got the moves, the voices and they put on a belter of a show!

One thing that does bug me is that I’m always surprised as to why the girls don’t seem to be seen in the same light as your Girls Aloud’s and Spice Girls when mentioning them to my peers. The latter names seem to have become ‘credible’ and are seen as more than your run of the mill girl group, while The Sats seem to still be seen as just another pop act. The fact the girls are headlining Wembley Arena tonight proves they are more than worthy of this kind of status and with 3 successful albums to their name it’s about time people gave them the recognition they deserve. Rant over!

With a packed out Wembley tonight the girls blasted through their back catalogue of hits with not a single note out of key or dance step out of place! Crowd pleasers such as ‘Ego‘, ‘Just Can’t Get Enough’, ‘Issues’ and ‘All Fired Up‘ had everyone on their feet and singing their hearts out; well except one guy who sat through the whole concert watching Rugby on his Ipad! Mate, theres five stunning girls in front of you and you wanna watch Rugby? Sort it out!

Props have to goto Una who, although currently heavily pregnant, still gave it her all and didn’t let the side down one bit. Was good to even see a quick blast of Irish jig thrown in there for good measure! Go Una!!

Also, being Christmas of course the girls didn’t disappoint and got some christmas tunage out to get us all in the festive mood. This was complimented with them all wearing matching sparkly miss santa dresses which I feel girls should be made to wear between December 1st and Jan 1st every year by law from now on.

Overall The Saturdays proved their worth this evening and if the girls keep up the momentum who knows where where will be seeing them this time next year. It’s time The Saturdays are promoted! Move over Girls Aloud!
