Former Sex Pistols frontman John Lydon and his band Public Image Ltd have confirmed that they will release a four track recording entitled “One Drop” on the 21st of April. This will be followed by a further offering “This Is PiL” due to be released on the 28th of May. Both records are to be released by the bands personal label “Pil Official”.
Concerning the track “One Drop” Lydon has stated that: “One Drop is a reflection of where I grew up in Finsbury Park, London. The area that shaped me, and influenced me culturally and musically, a place I will forever feel connected to,”.
In recent years people have come to know the Punk icon for his spoken word due to his appearance in certain reality shows and butter commercials, rather than his raucous and once revolutionary lyrics. I for one am looking forward to seeing a return to form from Lydon, and hearing him do what he does best.
