Album: A Different Kind Of Truth
Release: Out Now

After a staggering long wait for this reunion with David Lee Roth and the boys of Van Halen to reunite, this album is arguably one of the most anticipated albums of 2012. After it sought its release on February 7th this year HTF were itching to get their hands on a copy and give it a listen.

Well, since we’ve been waiting since 1998 for this to happen, we can safely say it has definitely been made to expectations. With thirteen tracks of pure, hard-rocking bliss this album is sure to make the Halen fans happy.

Although it shares a more modern twist in songs like ‘Tattoo’ and ‘She’s The Woman’ it still keeps the old school in this new album. It has been rumoured the songs were taken from early demo’s, which would explain the generic party anthem type chorus’s you get in songs like ‘Blood And Fire’ and ‘The Trouble With Never’.

The duo between Roth’s voice and Eddie’s guitar show us just why there is only one Van Halen, no one can even begin to match or replace this band. Let’s also not forget the Van Halen junior Wolfgang on bass, who performs brilliantly on the album at just 20 years-old. Drummer and brother of Eddie Van Halen, Alex Van Halen really shows off his drumming skills and shows he really hasn’t lost it. Why can’t all family get togethers consists of writing a new album? (Minus David Lee Roth of course)

With powerful solos and the high, hoarse vocals this is what old fashioned rock n’ roll is all about.

There’s a bit of blues mixed in with classic fast paced guitar riffs, making the whole thing sound so unique and extraordinary. Some may be glad they finally threw out the synths and keyboards and created this album. It lives up to everything the new-age of rockers want and they are still keeping it fresh, but have remembered who they are; one of the greatest bands to come out of the 70s rock music scene.
